The Knit & Natter group meets every two weeks, and is for anyone who knits, crochets, does patchwork or cross-stitch - or any other needlecraft. Even if you're not a knitter, you are still welcome to come along for a natter and to enjoy some good company! Learners are also welcome - as are teenagers during school holidays. The cost is £1.50, including refreshments.

A public forum will take place at the beginning of the meeting to give members of the public and the press the opportunity to address the council on any planning-related matters they wish to raise.

Barton Seagrave Horticultural Society - Annual Show
2.15pm, the Community Centre, Pioneer Avenue, Burton Latimer
The Society’s 12th Annual Show will be held this afternoon - with dahlias, cut flowers, pot plants, vegetables, cookery and baking, handicrafts and photography (and more!) on display. Monthly farmers market
9am - 1pm, Millennium Garden, High Street, Burton Latimer
Stalls selling fruit and vegetables, local farm meat, free range eggs and speciality cheeses. The Friends of St Mary's Church will have a stall selling tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cakes - together with books and CDs. If you have unwanted books or CDs in saleable condition, you can donate them at the market.

Coffee morning
9.30am, the Guiding Centre, Alexandra Street, Burton Latimer
The guides will be holding their monthly coffee morning today. Bacon butties, cakes, tea and coffee will be for sale, and there will be a variety of stalls. All proceeds go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the Centre, which is used most evenings during term time by Rainbows, Brownies and Guides.

Heritage Museum - new exhibition opens today
10am - 1pm, the Heritage Museum, 120 High Street, Burton Latimer
The Heritage Museum's new exhibition - entitled ‘Burton’s Heroes’ - opens today. The exhibition will commemorate the 1918 armistice, the men who died in the 1914-18 World War and the men who returned to Burton Latimer with their lives changed forever. The Museum will be open from 10am to 1pm every Thursday and Saturday, until Saturday, 1st December. As usual, entrance is free.

The Heritage Museum's new exhibition - entitled ‘Burton’s Heroes’ - opens on Saturday 1st September. The exhibition will commemorate the 1918 armistice, the men who died in the 1914-18 World War and the men who returned to Burton Latimer with their lives changed forever. The Heritage Museum in High Street will be open from 10am to 1pm every Thursday and Saturday, until Saturday, 1st December. As usual, entrance is free.
