The Heritage Museum's latest exhibition - entitled ‘Burton’s Heroes’ - is open today. The exhibition commemorates the 1918 armistice, the men who died in the 1914-18 World War and the men who returned to Burton Latimer with their lives changed forever. The Museum will be open from 10am to 1pm every Thursday and Saturday, until Saturday, 1st December. As usual, entrance is free.

The Knit & Natter group meets every two weeks, and is for anyone who knits, crochets, does patchwork or cross-stitch - or any other needlecraft. Even if you're not a knitter, you are still welcome to come along for a natter and to enjoy some good company! Learners are also welcome - as are teenagers during school holidays. The cost is £1.50, including refreshments.

Burton Latimer Town Council - ELECTION OF 12th COUNCILLOR
7am - 10pm, Burton Latimer Civic Centre and Burton Latimer Community Centre
Voting takes place today to elect a 12th councillor to fill the vacancy that has arisen on Burton Latimer Town Council following the recent resignation of Jan Smith. Three candidates have been nominated, and the two polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm (see Notice of Poll for details).

12-hour table tennis marathon
9am - 9pm, John Yeomans Hall, Meeting Lane, Burton Latimer
Burton Baptist Table Tennis Club will be raising funds for Crazy Hats Breast Cancer Appeal and Scope, Cerebral Palsy support, when club members and friends will be playing continuous table tennis from 9am until 9pm. Over the past 12 years the club has raised over £16,000 for various charities. If you are free please call in and give your support, and have a go - it can be as strenuous or as easy going as you want, and if you wish you can try your wits and agility against THE ROBOT. Coaches will be available during the day to help improve your skills. Sponsorship forms will be available. For more information please contact Derek (07890 138369).

Stalls selling fruit and vegetables, local farm meat, free range eggs and speciality cheeses. The Friends of St Mary's Church will have a stall selling tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cakes - together with books and CDs. If you have unwanted books or CDs in saleable condition, you can donate them at the market.

Coffee morning
9.30am, the Guiding Centre, Alexandra Street, Burton Latimer
The guides will be holding their monthly coffee morning today. Bacon butties, cakes, tea and coffee will be for sale, and there will be a variety of stalls. All proceeds go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the Centre, which is used most evenings during term time by Rainbows, Brownies and Guides.
