Linda Gregory

Since moving here in 2015, my husband Gary and I have felt very welcomed while we have been renovating Osborne House (Dr Kingsley’s house) on the High Street.

I took early retirement from my job as an assistant headteacher and my children are grown up, so I have the skills, time and energy to give back to the community. I have already played an active part in the campaign to save our library and continue to work with the Friends of the Library. I am a trustee of the Heritage Society and am fronting its Events and Projects group to promote and organise events to raise money to maintain the society's museum and website. I am also involved with the Friends of St Mary's Church, where I can be seen on their Farmers’ Market stall every few months and helping at their other events.

Burton Latimer is going through a period of massive growth and change, which needs careful monitoring. I believe that the provision of services and infrastructure is a priority so that people who live here are adequately catered for.

I have a steep learning curve ahead of me, but I am not afraid of a challenge! I am very much a 'can do' person with a strategic, problem-solving approach to everything I do.

My interests are genealogy, interior design and upcycling, vintage accessories, gardening and reading, all of which could become a little solitary, so I have deliberately made the effort to go out and meet people. I believe that good communication is a key to success, and I am very approachable and a good listener (so I have been told!) - so do have a chat with me if you see me around. I try to walk everywhere within the town, so please say hello!
